Taking care of natural hair is not always easy…. In fact, it’s 99% of the time difficult…. The weather that is too dry or too humid, the products that are filled with harmful chemicals, the time it takes to make just an updo… I mean everything most of time works against us when it comes to managing our hair.
But what if there was a regimen that could help? What if you’ve find the perfect products that could transform your bad hair days into a nice summer breeze 🥰?
Well, in this short blog post I will tell you how to get nice, soft and beautiful natural hair with curls and twist that last for days.
SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER : LIFETIME’S CLEANSERS HAIR KEEPER
These are my go to products whenever I need to clean my hair on a weekly basis. The SheaMoisture Jamaican black castor oil Strengthen and Restore Shampoo is used on wet, finger Detangled hair. I use it mainly on my scalp because that’s where I have product buildups generally. Then, I follow up with The SheaMoisture Jamaican black castor oil Strengthen and Restore Conditioner that I always apply on clean, freshly shampooed hair which I sectioned in 4 parts to prepare the next step. I like to leave my conditioner on for 6 to 9 minutes while detangling it with a wide tooth comb. Then I rinse with Lukewarm water.
DEEP TREATMENT MASK: YOUR HAIR’S SAVIOR AGAINST DRY SEASON
My favorite deep conditioning treatment of all time is still the SheaMoisture Jamaican black castor oil Strengthen and Restore Deep conditioner because it keeps my hair strong while providing elasticity to it. So, it’s actually a go to product whenever I feel like my hair is weak, somehow damaged or not bouncing back. So, I prefer to use my deep conditioner on freshly washed hair and leave it on for 30 minutes.
THE LCO METHOD : YOUR HAIR’S BEST FRIEND
This is an important step in my hair care regimen as it is what will keep my hair moisturized during the week so I make sure I never skip it for any reason.
The L stands for liquid and you have to option to use your leave in conditioner
My Favorite all natural leave in conditioner is: JoleyTexture Moisturizing leave in conditioner/ Detangler .
This leave in keeps your hair moisturized while helping it detangle easier. Featuring mango butter, shea butter, Kokum butter, marshmallow root, slippery elm and Provitamin B5, this lightweight conditioner works good on any type of hair to provide a Slippery feeling and the perfect twist outs.
The C stands for Cream and you have the option to use your favorite butter or cream.
For a moisturizing effect, I like to use my Haitian black castor hair butter Spread. It is made with 100% Pure Haitian black castor oil, Raw Shea butter, Kokum butter and a lot of good oils that are very good at softening your hair while keeping it moisturized for days.
The O stands for Oil and you have the option to use your favorite oil to seal in moisture.
My 100% Haitian black castor oil herbal infused treatment does this job perfectly. This oil in general rejuvenates, seals in moisture and protects the moisture in your hair. Packed with amazing nutrients that are good for the health of your natural hair, this oil is rich in essential fatty acids, a special component your hair needs to grow healthy.
Some people prefer to do the LCO and some prefer the LOC method but as far as i’m concerned, the LCO method works best for me because the oil is best as the last step of my regimen so i can seal in moisture. Plus, if i put the oil first i believe it would block the other products to do the job and penetrate the hair cuticles.
FOR THE PERFECT TWIST OUT
The best natural and chemicals free hair butter for twist out is the JoleyTexture Ayuverdic hair butter Spread.
It moisturizes my hair while keeping it soft, elastic and bouncy.
COWASH: YOUR HAIR’S RESCUER FOR QUICK WASH
For a quick wash in between shampoos I like to use the As I Am, Coconut COWASH. This is a best seller and there’s a good reason why it’s an all time favorite of many naturalists out there.
Not only it doesn’t cost much to buy it, but the value for your money is good as well. You get a moisturizing cleanser without the crazy lather from sulfates shampoos that strip your hair from its natural oils.
In fact, during the dry season this is what I prefer to use on a weekly basis so my hair can stay soft, manageable and elastic.
